Hello! Welcome to the Ladies Auxiliary, Washington State Society of the Sons of the American Revolution website. We are so glad you decided to visit our site.
We are the wives, mothers, aunts, sisters, daughters, granddaughters, stepdaughters, nieces, and other women relatives of members of members of the Sons of the American Revolution who are in good standing. We are their support team. Ladies do not have to attend meetings to be a member. While we operate independently, we formulate our activities to further the goals of the SAR.
The goals of the Auxiliary are to stimulate greater interest in and support of the Society, to assist them in the promotion of SAR membership and in furthering the objectives and patriotic activities of the SAR which are declared to be Historic, Patriotic and Educational.
At the Pacific District Conference held in April of each year, we ladies sponsor raffles, coordinate the prizes, and add decorations to the tables. We are also sometimes asked to be the Teller Committee to count votes for officer nominations. Our fundraisers are basically used to support the youth contest programs. In other words, we have a lot of fun and camaraderie with other ladies who have like interests. We enhance the social environment of the SAR.
The annual membership fee is only $5. We meet once a year, usually help in April. Money raised by the Auxiliary from dues, donations and raffles goes to programs such as the High School Essay Contests, Eagle Scout programs, Oration Contest, Junior Reserve Officer's Training Corps, the National Center for Advancing America’s Heritage located in Louisville, Kentucky and to Congress.
